Vida Floyd launched Jewell's Cajun and Southern Cuisine in November 2020, a food truck serving San Antonio, named for her mother. A Louisiana native who ended up in Texas, she spent 20 years at the US Department of Health and 15 in special education before catering turned into a truck. Her uncle taught her gumbo at ten and she can cook it with her eyes closed. She also majored in marketing, which shows: promoting southern food in Texas means understanding an audience that may not assume it is for them, so her menu always carries meat and vegetarian dishes to defy the seafood-and-spicy expectation.
The part worth stealing is her timing. Promote too soon and people forget, too late and they already have plans. For a big new event she starts as early as six months out. For something established like her annual Gumbo Fest, where she cooks for 400 people in a pot you could stand in, two or three months is enough. Small events and specials get a few weeks, sometimes just the week before. The flyers go out across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, as texts to her contacts, occasionally printed, and always as a Facebook event so reminders land in people's feeds. Her designs carry a lot of colour, a touch of her signature purple, and either the logo or a photo of her.
You can plan yours on the same curve. Build the flyer from food and restaurant templates, keep the menu current with the menu maker, and add movement with video templates, since Vida finds people respond to video most where food is concerned. Then set the whole run out in the Content Planner so the reminders fire on their own.
